From Sarah Baker…

I’ve only been couponing for about a month now, inspired by the TV show to see what I could do. I was skeptical because we don’t eat a lot of processed foods but I thought, what have I got to lose?

I subscribed to my sunday paper and started clipping. What I quickly learned was the longer you coupon the more you can save. My biggest savings yet has been 46% on a grocery bill. By combining coupons with items already on sale I get the biggest discounts.

I had 3 $1/3 coupons for Pierogi’s that were on sale for 2/$4. If you bought three you also got a FREE Giant 1/2 gallon ice cream. By combining coupons and sale/free items I got 9 boxes of Pierogi’s and 3 1/2 Gallons of Ice Cream for $12. So $1 per piece…. roughly a 60% savings.

Be patient, you won’t use all your coupons every week and some weeks the coupons won’t be that great but the deals are there is you keep clipping and paying attention!

With extreme couponing you can learn the techniques and tips on saving tons of money on groceries including food, household, and other items at the grocery store. TLC has this new show that has a few people on the TV series that display how they are saving lots of cash just by using coupons.

This is not your typical coupon user either as they go to great lengths in saving their money.

You can also start with lots of FREE coupons by signing up to our newsletter below:

In this tough economy many people are trying to learn new ways of saving money and with this TLC show, some people are only paying less than $10 for hundreds of items in which they stock pile and use over the years.

Another thing they do is double up on grocery coupons for items and even buy them on sale so they can get that extra savings. The show goes to great lengths in showing everything from the very beginning of preparation of extreme couponing all the way until the couponer gets home and starts organizing the way their items are in the home.

The big question a lot of people are wondering is what is a power couponer and how can you become one? Being a couponer has become increasingly popular recently because of all the buzz, television shows, and media that has been seen on how to save a lot of money just by using coupons. A couponer is someone who frequently uses coupons at grocery and retail stores to save money on their total bill simply put.

Defining the Power Couponer:

Taking it a step further is the “Power Couponer” who is one that is a couponer but takes it to the next level by saving tons of money everytime they go to the grocery store, retail outlet, or online websites. A power couponer never pays full price for anything at a store or online!

They will never leave home without coupons and their total savings of at least 20% off their total bill, but usually much higher. Typically a power couponer will use at least 30 coupons in any given week and most of those will be used at the grocery store. The power couponer has a binder organized of each category their coupons are in for easy access while shopping at the store. When shopping online, they will ALWAYS find a coupon code to use on their total bill.
