What is a Power Couponer?

The big question a lot of people are wondering is what is a power couponer and how can you become one?  Being a couponer has become increasingly popular recently because of all the buzz, television shows, and media that has been seen on how to save a lot of money just by using coupons.  A couponer is someone who frequently uses coupons at grocery and retail stores to save money on their total bill simply put.

Defining the Power Couponer:

Taking it a step further is the “Power Couponer” who is one that is a couponer but takes it to the next level by saving tons of money everytime they go to the grocery store, retail outlet, or online websites.  A power couponer never pays full price for anything at a store or online!

They will never leave home without coupons and their total savings of at least 20% off their total bill, but usually much higher.  Typically a power couponer will use at least 30 coupons in any given week and most of those will be used at the grocery store.  The power couponer has a binder organized of each category their coupons are in for easy access while shopping at the store.  When shopping online, they will ALWAYS find a coupon code to use on their total bill.

This is new to me. I thought by saving 5 to 20 dollars on a grocery trip was good. I am still struggeling to get coupons. The only way I know for a fact to get coupons is in the Sunday’s paper, IF someone doesn’t steal them out of the paper before I buy it. I idn’t realize that I had to download toolbars to get coupons. I hate downloading and risking gettin a virus. I hope this site is a safe site. I hope to one day be able to save a decent amount on my grocery bill. As a disabled mom due to a previous brain tumor I count every penny. I hope this really works.

Hey guys! I am an extreme couponer and I LOVE it. I also love helping others find ways to save as much money as I do. If anyone ever has any questions, you can feel free to email me at [hidden for privacy]. Last week at Kroger I spent $80.96 and I saved $287! A couple tips to help everyone out is this – you CANNOT be a brand snob. There are some products where I only use a certain brand, but not many. If a different brand of pasta is on sale than what I normally buy, well, we’re gonna eat the new brand. Another tip is this – I save most of my money on health and beauty items. If I can get deodorant, toothpaste, and razors for free, then that money that I saved can go towards buying grocery items that I don’t have coupons for! I hope that helps everyone out. I’m just trying to pass along the helpful information I needed when I started out! Good luck!

screw walmart….that’s just yet another way for them to control how much those little kids in China get paid for making consumer goods for the USA……..I’m a CIT (couponer-in-training) but I can still save over 50% on my receipt by shopping at the local grocery chain. Tried it at walmart for a savings of only $12 on a nearly $200 grocery purchase…….why? because they never have sales–it’s they’re edlp (every day low price)…..my grocery store has the shopper’s card, the weekly sales AND my coupons on top of that and if I’m lucky enough to catch the double coupons– my savings is even greater……in addition to the advertised sales, my store also has the “in-store” specials on items such as shampoo, deo, toothpaste, etc., so I’m always sure to have those coupons on me as well. Those are the items that I can stock up on without worrying about expiration dates too…….forget walmart– they aren’t the couponer’s friend……stick with Kroger, winn-dixie, publix, etc — that’s where you’re savings will be found

I recently had a PROBLEM with Walgreens. I had a coupon for $3.00 off of Ivory soap. It was on sale for $2.99. They would NOT take my coupon. They would NOT give me a real reason why not. I called Walgreens headquarters, to file a complaint. They called ME back wanted to know what the problem was. Told them what happened. Next day went into Walgreens, they gave me my FREE Ivory soap, PLUS I got to use my coupons for 5 MORE FREE packs.. Have a PROBLEM, SPEAK UP!!!!!!!
